Dear Ms. Shepard
GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
The planning committee is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Wyoming Women’s Historical Museum: Saturday, August 25.
As one who played an important role in reaching this milestone, you are invited to a luncheon before the ceremony. The luncheon will be held at the Mead House at 11:30. The groundbreaking will begin at 1:30.
The museum will be a source of great pride for Wyoming residents. Visitors will be reminded of the part Wyoming women played in the history of the state and nation
Sincerely

Mr. and Mrs. Eric Russell
Po Box 215
Moorcroft WY 82721-2152
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Eric Russell:
Wyoming women were the first women in the United States to have the right to vote (1869). Ester Morris of South Pass City became the first woman judge in 1870. Wyoming was the first state to elect a woman to state office when Estelle Reel was elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction in 1894. Nellie Tayloe Ross became the first female governor in the United States when she was elected governor of Wyoming in 1925.
It is time to honor women such as these for the roles they played in shaping Wyoming and U.S. history. A Wyoming Women’s Historical Museum is being planned. With your help, the museum can become a reality.
Our community would benefit from the increased tourist activity. Thousands of tourists visit the nation’s first national monument, Devil’s Tower, each year. Since Moorcroft is only 30 miles from Devil’s Tower, a museum would draw many of them to our city as they travel to and from the Tower.
National and state funds for the project are being solicited; however, additional funding from the private sector will be required. Please look over the enclosed brochure and join the Wyoming Women’s Historical Museum Foundation by making a contribution.
Sincerely,
